How to invite other people to participate to your place

The key purpose of a Netcipia place is to enable you to effortlessly collaborate and share information with other people.

To do this, you must give your coworkers, friends and/or partners access to your place.

This is done by inviting them to your place. As the owner of the place (the creator), you have the ability to invite people. You can also delegate this right to other members of your place by granting them the admin privilege.

How to identify a member

A Netcipia user is always identified by his/her email address. This is a single identifier. Therefore, in order to invite someone to your place, you must know his/her email address.

2 cases:

• The user you wish to invite is already a Netcipia user (member or creator). In this case, his/her email address will be recognized by Netcipia and the new place will be added to the user’s own list of places on his/her Netcipia page.
• The user is not a Netcipia user. In that case, a new account will be created for him, and en email will be sent to his email address with all the instruction on how to access the place, including his password automatically generated by Netcipia.

IMPORTANT

Please note that many of anti-spam systems may forward this email to the anti-spam folder of the user's mailbox. Don't forget to check it if the user has not received your invitation.

Instruct the person in the invite email to print out the email, because if they loose that initial password you will have to contact Netcipia to reset the email. Also inform them how to change their password by going to their profile in the upper right.

I'm the place owner and I want to invite somebody to my place

There are 2 ways to do this:

1. In the myNetcipia page
2. In the place toolbox

Once logged on, you will see the list of the places you own. In the table, you have two actions possible:

• View members: allows you to see the list of the members already invited and to invite a new member (at the bottom of the list)
• Invite members: allows you to invite a new member directly

If you are already inside a place, you can go to the Toolbox where you will see two links, one to view the list of the existing members of your place, and the other to go directly to the invitation page.

I'm the place owner and want to delegate the ability to invite members

To delegate the ability to invite other users to other members of your place, you must assign them the admin right. To do so, you must go to the myNetcipia page, and select the "View members" action next to the name of the place you want to manage.

For example, if you want to assign this right to Mike, simply click on "Switch Admin Right", and Mike will become administrator for this place, giving him the right to invite new users.
