Delete a page:

In order to delete a page you need to have the admin rights. The placeowner is an admin, and he can grant admin rights to his members.

So, if you have these rights, to delete a page, just go to this page. When you are on it, click on the delete action link in the ToolBox Panel:

Important: You can NOT delete a WebHome page of a space if there is still other pages in the space. The delete link for a WebHome page will only appear in the panel if the space is empty. To check it, see the space index. If the WebHome page is the last page left in the space you'll be able to delete it.

It will redirect you to a confirmation page:

Be careful, as said in the message, once deleted there is NO way to get the page back!

It's done! Your page is deleted you can go back home by clickin the name of your space (or your logo if you uploaded it).

Delete a whole space:

Currently there is no easy way to delete a whole space quickly. But it is still possible:

To delete a whole space you have to delete all its pages. For this, proceed as said above. The space will be removed from your Spaces Panel when all the pages (included WebHome) will be deleted. The WebHome page of your space will be the last page you'll delete since you can not delete it until all the other pages are removed.

To do it properly you can go into the space index, click on the page that have to be deleted, delete it, go back to the space index, delete the next page… and so on, finishing by the WebHome page. You can't delete directly from the space index (it's only a view), and you need to go to each page to delete it.

Hi, with your account (associated to your email) you can create as manys place as you want :) Just go to http://www.netcipia.net/ and login there. You will be directed to a page with the list of the places you are member of, and at bottom of the page there is a form to create a new other place! (for example mali.netcipia.net). No need to delete the first place you created!

In the toolbox menu, under page, I do not see a delete option, and I am the admin. Here are the options:
  • Page -
History Notify PDF Print Rights

Did something change? Merci,

Fabienne

I can delete only spaces I have created myself. If I try to delete Blog or Photo spaces, it doesn't work. Even if I delete all pages, WebHome remains(delete option doesn't appear in menu). How can I solve this problem?

Hi,

This is a choice of Netcipia team to prevent users from deleting Main, Blog and Photo spaces. Indeed, they are "special" spaces. Blog and Photos spaces use different , non-standard templates and if you remove it you will probably not be able to re-create them and use them later.

So my advise is: don't delete them, they are not taking any space and you can ignore it.

But if you still want to delete them here is a tip, generally available for any page. That must be used carefully. Take a page called MyPage in the space MySpace. The url of the page will be: http://yourplace.netcipia.net/bin/view/MySpace/MyPage

If you modify the url and replace "view" by "delete" and then press enter, you will get the "delete dialog box".

So please be careful with it, when a page is shown as "deletable" by default this is generally in user interest.

Hi John that means you have not deleted all the pages of the space. Let say your space is called "MySpace", and your place, "myplace".

Try this: http://myplace.netcipia.net/xwiki/bin/view/MySpace/?index=1 It should display you the list of still existing page of the index. Then delete it. It is probably related to a page called "WebPreferences" which is hidden and is created when you change the rights of a space

Hi there,

I don't know how I exactly did it, buy I seem to have created twee WebHome-pages in one space. And it seems that I'm not able to delete the entire space now and make a new space with just one WebHome-page. Also, when I look in the index of the space, I get a whole lot of pages that were created by the Netcipia-admins for example two weeks ago (and my Place is only two days "old"). I can't delete these other admin-pages because I get an "error"-message because I have the wrong login. Hence, I can't delete all the pages in the space and the space entirely. Does anyone know how to solve this? Thx Elly
