This tutorial is great so far. I would suggest a bit of a tutorial on the photos space. Things like what is a photo album. How to upload a photo and how to delete a photo etc. cheers

Thanks Miguel! I've another question then. How do I reorder the spaces in the box to the left? Is there a way? If not, can it be implemented? I would like the ability to rearrange them for a good flow. :)

@Magnolia: no, there is no way currently to reorder the space panel content. We'll add this feature, it is useful. @Adrian: to delete an album, enter in the album itself, and delete the page (toolbox, delete link)

I've tried to write some articles but the tags to identify a piece of code as text don't work. What should I be using? Neither {pre} nor {code} produce just text, instead they produce a grey scroll-bar box with interpreted html text.

Hi,

Can you please send me a piece of code you'd like to display in the code macro to this address : nicolas-at-netcipia.com ? Because right now i can't identify what is exactly the problem. Regards!

Nicolas

problem solved - didn't realise you needed to use the backslash "\" to escape the code. Done now. By the way, I think this forum would be better using proper Forum technology. This comment space is going to fill up pretty quickly and be difficult to navigate and search soon.

… maybe just a free php bulletin board?

Yes, we are thinking about it. We like also another tool, FeedBack 2.0, implementing much modern tools than a traditional php forum. An example can be seen at http://feedback.phpmyvisites.net/. It is like a forum, but you can vote, categorize more clearly, and we would like to provide through this tool a way for our members to propose and vote for the new features implemented into our roadmap.

So are the only pages you can display images on are the photo album pages? I keep trying to add an image to a wiki page but it only shows up as an attachment no matter how I ask to to be aligned.

Hum, you can insert an image in every wiki page. The simplest way to do this now is to edit your page in WYSIWYG mode, and to use the "insert image" macro (the button is a picture). Then you can either select a picture you've already attached to the page, or upload one new and insert it. See here for a procedure: http://participation.netcipia.net/xwiki/bin/view/Tutorial/Upload

In wiki mode you can insert image using the image macro code.

Maybe were you using the insert file or the attach macro ? These macros only display links to an attached file.

If you still don't manage to insert an image please email me: nicolas -at- netcipia -dot- com

I have just joined Netcipia and like many aspects of it. However, when I go back into a page to re-edit it, I lose all the previous editing. It just becomes a page of closely typed text. The main problem seems to be with losing line breaks and new paragraphs. Things like bold and headings stay in place. It is driving me crazy! Any suggestions please.....

@Bob: it is not possible currently to change the time zone. PST is the only option. We are working on an international version, we hope to be able to release it during the first semester of 2008.

@Fabienne: Are you using the mindmap macro ? You can also contact our support giving us a link to your page, we'll be able to help you better.

Hello, Is it possible to import a flickr widget ? Can somebody gives some ideas about it ? Thanks ;)
coincommentNicolas Réau    Jan 14, 2008 03:29 PST
xwiki:XWiki.ngm252105935 coincomment
Yes it is :)

Look at this page, I just did it: http://participation.netcipia.net/xwiki/bin/view/Widgets/Flickr I got the code of the widget from http://www.flickranywhere.com/ Then I just pasted the generated code (see second section of the page to see how it was looking) in the page in WIKI mode.

I do recommande once done not to switch to WYSIWYG mode because there is a risk of losing the formatting of the script. (Which is not critical but annoying).

Great page and applications.

I've just one question: How does one add BREADCRUMBS?

Ex: I have a main page, on which links to other pages exist, and on the later pages, further links to other pages exist, sort of like this;

  1. MAIN page

Page HERE

Page NOW

How could I, when on page NOW, see the following, to either go back to MAIN or HERE?

It should show something like this: MAIN/HERE/NOW

Does anyone here know how to create breadcrumbs in this medium?

Hi :)

@Chantilly: By the way it was the original use of the existing breacrumb. It seems it's not working well currently. We are going to have look on it.

@Chatchai: yes you can, between javascript tags, like if you were embedding it in an HTML page.

Hi, could you please put a "view source" link on the tutorial pages, or any documentation pages? This would allow us to learn how to do things just by looking at the wiki source.

Is there a way I can track my comments scattered over all places and spaces in this Netcipia galaxy?
coincommentAdmin Netcipia    Mar 11, 2008 09:18 PST
xwiki:XWiki.Admin coincomment
Hi Tamir,

Indeed we definitely need a way to track comments. Something like "comment subscriptions" ...

About viewing source, that's an idea. I will ask developers to see what we can do. Until then, you can send an email to contact-AT-netcipia.com to ask edit rigth on this place (to participate).

You will then be able to look at source.
