On the first page shown (Welcome), I think you should keep the different shape and color changes to a minimum. Specifically, the right-side panels have two styles and colors … why? All these panels should be the same style. Have a simple took and be consistent.

In the default skin, there are already 2 kinds of panels with 2 different styles. Indeed we distinguish 2 kind of panels: those used for pure navigation/information on pages (like backlinks, recently created, recently visited..) and those which are more like "tools" panels (toolbox, create panel, personalizable panel..). So here is the reason, i don't know if it's really needed but at least it has a logical explanation :p I guess it's a question of feeling.

If you want to test the skin within your own place, it is possible. Go to the preferences of your place, go to the "skin" section, and in the field Skin, replace the existing value by
xwiki:XWiki.MySkinNetcipia
Save the preferences. That's all. To return to the original skin, type
xwiki:XWiki.MySkin
in the skin field.

A precision: it is not the final skin. It is provided just for test purposes and for your convenience, without any guarantee. We are working still on a final version that could be quite different. But don't hesitate to give us your feedback.

I love the new skin, especially being able to collapse the boxes. Is there a way for the collapse to be the default?

No you can not choose the collapse by default (and force it for all your members), but once you let it collapsed, a cookie will keep your preferences. This way each user can choose if he wants it collapsed or not.

I just tried it. It looks good, but shrunk the text down to the point of overlapping. I like the extra white space. The blue is more dominant than I'd hoped.

I would be glad to help apply alternate color schemes to existing skin structures if you want to provide a few options. Ideally, I'd love a light grey or ivory trim that would allow users' graphics to blend in well (like the body background here).

The final skin will be named BlueNetcipia, available now into your preferences combo box, and used now within this place. Other colors will be used to create new skins.

If you have any suggestion of a new skin template or new colors, don't hesitate to tell us :-)
